1050 Valencia Project

Two important meetings regarding the project at 1050 Valencia (the former Spork building).

This week: Thursday, January 12 at 6:30pm, 10 Hill Street
This meeting will be at Risa’s house to discuss our position and
presentation as regards the new plans being reviewed for the
development previously at 1050 Valencia Street, now being submitted as
One Hill Street.

Next week: Tuesday, January 17 from 5:50pm, Mission Cultural Center, 2868 Mission Street, La Salita meeting room on the second floor.
This meeting is with the Architect, Stephen Antonaros, where he will
present his new design and plans for the Spork site. The meeting room
is reserved for three hours, so late-comers will still have time to
stop by.

Please try to attend both meetings if you can. If not both, please
come to the Tuesday meeting next week so that we can show that we are
an active community, paying attention to what’s happening in our
neighborhood.

The Liberty Hill Neighborhood Association invites you, your family and neighbors to our annual celebration of the holidays at the fabulous Victorian home of one of our Liberty Hill Historic District founders, John Barbey. Come by and meet your neighbors, find out what’s happening in our local community, and learn how you can get involved.

We invite everyone in the neighborhood to come celebrate with us. Holiday beverages, wine and food will be served. We look forward to seeing you there!

SF NERT City Drill this Saturday

Come out to Holly Park this Saturday (10/15) to learn about earthquake preparedness and how you can protect your family in the event of a major disaster. Dolores Park Public Meeting

There will be another public meeting regarding Dolores Park this Thursday the 25th at 6:30 pm at Mission High (in the cafeteria, entrance is off of Dolores St.) At this meeting a very preliminary draft plan will be shown and discussed. Decisions on many important items will be made at this meeting, so those who use Dolores Park regularly should attend.

Deepistan National Parklet Grand Opening

One of our members has opened his own parklet, “Deepistan National Parklet”, at 937 Valencia! Please come out this Sunday, June 26, for the Grand Opening.

This will be a great opportunity to interact with three great urban advocacy organizations: The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, Livable City, and Walk SF. Hope you can all stop by.

Mission Dolores Park Workshop

There will be a workshop meeting for public input on the rehabilitation of Dolores Park on Thursday, June 2 at 6:30pm in the Mission High School Cafeteria (3750 18th Street). Please attend to discuss and give input on the improvement plan.

City Hall Hearing: Utility Box Blight

The San Francisco Planning Dept has given AT&T permission to install 726 utility boxes on public sidewalks throughout the city. Most of these utility boxes will be about 4 feet high, 4 feet wide and 30 inches deep. AT&T is implementing its rollout neighborhood by neighborhood- many affected communities are still unaware of the project and its impact on city sidewalks.

San Francisco Beautiful has filed an appeal, which will be heard by the full Board of Supervisors:
